Steven Greer’s Special Presidential Briefing

October 28th, 2009 1 comment

As with President Clinton it apparently falls to civilian researchers to bring  President Obama up to speed on the UFO situation.

The CIA, wishing to wipe their hands of the subject even where Presidential interest is concerned, had Ronald Pandolfi hand the task of getting Clinton clued in to Dr. Bruce Maccabbee.

That was 1993.

And now, 16 years later, it falls to Steven Greer and The Disclosure Project.

In his recent letter to President Obama, Greer states…

The full Briefing contains detailed information on the projects, project code numbers, names, corporations, locations etc., associated with the UFO/ET subject. (The full briefing is too lengthy to release at this time.)

This SPB has also been provided to the head of state of at least one G7 country, senior members of Congress, and other key government officials via known and reliable points of contact (POCs) directly to these leaders.

It is believed that “the head of state of at least one G7 country” may well be France’s President Sarkozy.

Will Obama Be the First President to Tell the Truth About UFOs?

October 12th, 2009 No comments

by R. J. Thomas

After decades of waiting for a president to brief the American public on the existence of UFOs, paranormal buffs are now wondering if President Obama will be the first to finally tell the truth about flying saucers and other such matters.

The Extraterrestrial Phenomena Political Action Committee is requesting the president ask for a full briefing from the military and government officials on what they know about UFOs. The committee, also known as X-PPAC, is the first group in history to directly target politics and the subject of UFOs. They organized the Million Fax on Washington, a petition where faxes, letters, and e-mails were sent to Obama just after he was elected last November, requesting he bring all UFO secrets into the light and officially end years of government secrets and mysterious cover-ups.

But is Obama even interested?

“Unlike presidents Carter, Reagan, and Clinton, President Obama appears to have very little interest in UFOs,” said filmmaker R. J. Thomas, whose mock-documentary, “The Top Secret UFO Project” parodies UFO sightings and cover-ups. “Obama says he is more concerned about improving people’s lives than he is about aliens.”

At the close of “The Top Secret UFO Project,” it is mentioned that “The Jasper Incident,” a UFO-themed, film-within-the-film, was shown to President Bush at the White House in early 2004. The next day, the president told the press that he found the film very entertaining, but said that no spaceships were ever seen or seized by the government, and that anyone who believes in flying saucers is out of his mind.

The epilogue is a joke, illustrating the fact that Bush, like most of Washington, was in no hurry to tell the nation about the truth about UFOs. Bush was a ten-year-old boy when the town of Jasper, Colorado, experienced a series of UFO encounters, but, as the president of the United States in 2004, he must continue the tradition of keeping the town of Jasper’s secret (and all other known UFO stories) carefully in the closet.

“Bush promised to investigate the UFO issue, but then the subject mysteriously disappeared,” Mr. Thomas said. “I imagine Obama must be curious. UFOs must have crossed his mind at one time or another. And of all the jobs you could have to best find out information about UFOs, it would be the president of the United States.”

Many presidents of the past have had a strong interest in the subject.

In 1973, Jimmy Carter, then the governor of Georgia, filed a form with the NICAP to report a UFO sighting. Carter said that if he became president, he would make every piece of information this country has about UFO sightings available to the public.

“Jimmy Carter was the first president to admit that he had seen a UFO,” Mr. Thomas said. “Many applauded him for his bravery. He was taking a chance. A man preparing for a presidential bid is in no position to say things that make him sound like a crackpot.”

It was 1969, and Governor Carter was in Leary, Georgia, for a meeting with the Lion’s Club. Shortly after dark, he saw a bright object in the sky that was a big as the moon and kept changing colors.

But after Carter took office in January of 1977, his promise of announcing UFO information was not to be. Walter Wurfel, the administration’s Deputy Press Secretary, told the press, “There might be some aspects of some sightings that would have defense implications that possibly should be safe-guarded against immediate and full disclosure.”

Ronald Reagan was the first president to talk about the possibility of an alien invasion from outer space, and he said it in at least three speeches.

“There is a story that before he became the governor of California, Reagan and his wife, Nancy, spotted a UFO on a highway near Hollywood,” Mr. Thomas said. “They were on their way to a dinner party. When they got there, they told the guests they had just seen a UFO coming down the coast.”

As president, Reagan even discussed this matter with Mikhail Gorbachev, the head of the Soviet Union.

“At our meeting in Geneva, the U.S. President said that if the earth faced an invasion by extraterrestrials, the United States and the Soviet Union would join forces to repel such an invasion,” Gorbachev said. “I shall not dispute the hypothesis, though I think it’s early yet to worry about such an intrusion.”

The most amusing story involved a special screening of “ET” at the White House in 1982. Director Steven Spielberg was present, and, after the movie, Reagan supposedly turned to Spielberg and whispered, “There are only a handful of people who know the truth about this.”

Bill Clinton had always been curious about the existence of UFOs. After taking office in January of 1993, he was was determined to find out if tales of flying saucers were a myth, or if the government did, indeed, have many secrets hidden away somewhere in a well-secured vault.

“Clinton became president and the first thing he wanted to do with his power was to find answers to, along with JFK’s assassination, the existence of UFOs,” Mr. Thomas said. “This was information not accessible to most anyone else, whether it be the governor of Arkansas or the man in the street. Did he get any answers? Some say ‘yes’ and some say ‘no.’”

The Clinton Administration did their best, however, to uncover the decades-old mysteries of spaceship sightings. Even Hillary was in on the act, helping billionaire philanthropist Laurence Rockefeller edit a UFO-themed letter to the president.

But no new UFO information was made public, no answers were given, and Clinton never held a press conference to announce what really happened in Roswell or anywhere else.

“Some people believe the president never found any answers, that even he was not immune to government cover-ups,” Mr. Thomas said. “Others believe he did find answers, but chose to continue the tradition of keeping the public in the dark. And my film is a parody about keeping the public in the dark.”

Based on Mr. Thomas’ 2004 novella of the same name, “The Top Secret UFO Project” chronicles the UFO-related events experienced by a tiny Colorado hamlet called Jasper in the summer of 1956. Billed as “the movie the government does not want you to see,” “The Top Secret UFO Project,” is a spoof of the cheesy UFO documentaries of the 70’s like “Overlords of the UFO,” and of TV programs like “In Search Of.”

“Not everyone is a UFO buff,” Mr. Thomas said, “but everybody loves a good campfire story.”

But to Obama, is this all a campfire story? Or will he show some curiosity about this like the past presidents?

“If he can find some time between his work on the economy and health care, he might ask some questions,” Mr. Thomas said. “But there are people waiting. On the home page of X-PPAC’s website, there is a countdown of Obama’s days in office without dealing with the UFO matter. It reads ’so and so days since President Obama’s inauguration without disclosure.’ So they’re on him. They’re not going to let up.”

Mr. Thomas has been a guest on “The ‘X’ Zone,” Rob McConnell’s internationally-syndicated radio program which specializes in the unusual and the unexplained.

Paranormal experts feel alienated by Obama – Santa Fe Reporter

September 16th, 2009 No comments

By: Dave Maass 09/16/2009

Change may be harder to believe in than extraterrestrial life—at least when it comes to releasing classified records, according to UFOlogists in attendance at Angel Fire’s first Paranormal Symposium.

“The only ‘change’ is the change of opinion among UFOlogists who think that we’re going to get something from Obama,” Dee Gragg, who teaches adult education courses on UFOs at New Mexico State University, says.

Gragg presented a lecture on crop circles at the symposium, held Sept. 11-13 in the small village 25 miles outside Taos. The event drew more than 150 attendees to listen to 10 lectures covering everything from monster hunting to “UFOs and Alternative Energy.” While the speakers disagree on theories and explanations, they largely agree that Obama hasn’t made paranormal research and UFO disclosure as high a priority as they had hoped.

“If you lined up the 17 most important things Obama has to do, [UFOs] wouldn’t make the list,” Gragg says. “Look what he’s got on his plate; he’s not about to take on something like this.”

Right now, that plate is heaped over with health insurance reform. But just as the US lags behind the rest of the Western world on universal coverage, paranormal truth-seekers say the US also trails Europe when it comes to the release of UFO records.

In late August, the British National Archives followed the lead of several other nations, including France and Russia, by releasing 4,000 pages of documents related to UFO reports dating back 15 years. Nick Redfern, a British-born author of more than a dozen books on the paranormal, has reviewed many of the British documents and notes that approximately 90 percent are reports of sightings from citizens and requests for information filed by researchers.

The remaining 10 percent, he says, are the most interesting: reports of UFO sightings by military pilots that correspond with unidentifiable blips recorded by radar stations on the ground.

“The [release of] documents is good because it shows that government agencies investigated it,” Redfern tells SFR. “It shows there are credible witnesses. What it doesn’t do is answer the question of what these things are.”

Yet, the US government still keeps its mother lode of secrets on lockdown.

On a recent visit to the Harry S Truman Library and Museum in Independence, Mo., Gragg says he discovered that a third of the UFO files contained only a pink slip of paper stating the information for that file has yet to be declassified. The security presence at the library, according to Gragg, also indicates the government knows something, but won’t share it.

“Would you believe that there were four or five guards with walkie-talkie radios talking to each other and they were all packing heat?” Gragg says. “I’m saying, what are they going to do, shoot me if I chew gum too loud?”

Dennis Balthaser, who researches the Roswell UFO crash, says he had one Freedom of Information Act request—or FOIA—pending with the US government for more than eight years.

“When I send in a FOIA, many times I get a [letter] back with a generic stamp on it that says those records may have been destroyed in a fire in 1973,” Balthaser says. “That’s well and good, but ‘may have been’ is not an answer.”

Although during the campaign Obama indicated he would push for further transparency, his administration has played coy on UFO issues. For example, UFOlogists point to a July C-Span appearance by Obama’s press secretary, Robert Gibbs, in which he dodged a viewer-submitted question about UFOs.

“Look, I have not been briefed on whether or not there are the existence of UFOs,” Gibbs told Ryan from Seattle. “I know that the president is deeply concerned about ensuring we have transparency in government, and the American people have faith in what the government is trying to do.”

Similarly, On Sept. 9, Obama personally told Philadelphia radio host Michael Smerconish that he had indeed seen the presidential “Book of Secrets,” which was the catalyst for adventure in Disney’s second National Treasure film. As far as the information inside, he said to Smerconish, “I would tell you, but I’d have to kill you.”

Guy Malone, who lectured on Christianity and UFOs at the symposium, doubts Obama is in the loop. Like many UFOlogists, he believes such information is classified above even the president’s clearance level.

“I think the Clintons knew a lot more because they were tight with [former Clinton Chief of Staff] John Podesta who was trying to get this UFO stuff disclosed,” Malone says.

Redfern has noted a stricter policy related to public information and UFO records in the last decade, but believes it is more due to the fallout after 9.11 than any particular presidential administration.

“Whether it was the Clinton era, Bush Sr., Reagan, [release policies] weren’t that much different,” Redfern says. “I don’t believe there’s been a clampdown on access to UFO data. I think there’s just been a clampdown on everything.”

Redfern, however, says when the government rejects a UFO-related request, more often than not it isn’t to cover up extraterrestrial contact, but to protect terrestrial defense. For example, governments often don’t want foreign powers understanding their radar and satellite capabilities.

“National security doesn’t always relate necessarily to the sighting,” Redfern says. “Sometimes it’s the way they collect the information.”

But some UFOlogists believe that full release of UFO documentation would not be in the public’s best interest.

“What would be the effect on our population if suddenly we told them UFOs not only are real, but we cannot protect you against them, that they can disintegrate anything that we have?” Gragg says. “Secondly, what would be their reaction when they find out that aliens, particularly the ‘little grays,’ abduct people all the time?”

Gragg says the administration should come up with a plan to prepare the population and gradually release information.

There are also political considerations.

“If you look at what happened to Dennis Kucinich, when it came out during the presidential debates that Shirley MacLaine put in her book that he saw a UFO at her house, he tanked,” Malone says. “You get thrown in the gutter very quickly if you discuss UFOs in a political sense.”

Malone is confident that, if released, the facts would support his theory that aliens are actually fallen angels who are trying to lure Christians into joining cults like Heaven’s Gate, whose members committed mass suicide in 1997 in the hopes of catching a lift on comet Hale-Bopp.

However, he also believes information will emerge that proves the Roswell crash was a government experiment involving Nazis, technology developed by Nikola Tesla, mongoloid children and radiation-poisoning survivors.

“I think all the records should be disclosed so that people have access to all the information they need to make an informed, intelligence decision,” Malone says.

Obama Fails to Release UFO Files – MSNBC

September 8th, 2009 No comments

The following MSNBC video features the ongoing search for extraterrestrial life, both by SETI and UFO researchers. It then goes on to mention the recent MoD release of more UFO files and Obama’s failure to do so claiming that, “President Obama promised to do the same in the campaign.”

Obama, to the best of our knowledge, made no such promise. So, the mistake is probably one brought on by the follow up comments of a certain Mr. Bassett.

Please Obama: Tears for Gary – inthenews.co.uk

Janice Sharp at Protest The mother of a UFO enthusiast facing extradition to the US on charges of hacking into government computers has made an impassioned direct appeal to Barack Obama to intervene in the case.

Gary McKinnon has been told by the home secretary and director of public prosecutions he cannot be tried in the UK and he must be extradited.

The Pentagon accuses him of hacking into military computers in the aftermath of September 11th 2001 and deleting sensitive information, but Mr McKinnon, who suffers from Asperger syndrome says he was just looking for information on UFOs.

Days before the 43-year-old discovers whether a final UK-based appeal is successful, his mother Janis Sharp revealed he is feeling suicidal over the looming extradition and stateside trial.

“He took betablockers and said for the first time ever he had woken up for the first time without chest pains and he felt relaxed for the first time ever,” Ms Sharp said at a protest outside the US embassy in central London.

“But he’s stopped taking those because he’s worried about the side-effects.”

Ms Sharp broke down in tears as she appealed directly to President Obama to intervene in the case and prevent his extradition.

“Please Obama,” she said fighting back tears. “Don’t let the first person ever extradited for computer misuse to be a guy with Asperger’s who was hunting for UFOs – a really good gentle guy who’s never hurt anyone and who would never hurt anyone. Please stop this extradition.”

Campaigners on both sides of the Atlantic are carrying a torch for Mr McKinnon. While US citizens require the establishment of probable cause before extradition can be granted, British residents like Mr McKinnon can be subject to extradition without these requirements.

Liberty director Shami Chakrabarti told politics.co.uk: “This is about a big mistake of our government rather than the US government. All we want is the same for people in Britain.

“People forget that even if you could get a fair trial in another country, if you believe in the presumption of innocence you’ve got to understand that being taken from your home and your family and your lawyers and your friends and supporters, taken off to the other side of the world where you will be a fugitive offender, locked up pending trial – that’s a punishment in itself.”

Mr McKinnon will hear whether his appeal can be heard in the UK’s supreme court on September 3rd.

McKinnon Anti-Extradition Protest – BBC News

August 27th, 2009 No comments

Campaigners are to hold a protest outside the US Embassy in London against the extradition of computer hacker Gary McKinnon to America.

Gary McKinnon His supporters argue that when a crime occurs in the UK a British court should be able to refuse extradition.

The US wants to try Mr McKinnon, 43, for what it calls the biggest military computer hack ever in 2001/02. He maintains he was seeking UFO evidence.

The Asperger’s Syndrome sufferer lost a court bid to avoid extradition.

Liberty say that British courts should be allowed to veto extradition “if it’s in the interests of justice to do so”.
The group added: “Liberty also holds that the requesting country should have to make out the case for extradition in a British court before the request is granted.”Glasgow-born Mr McKinnon admits hacking by accessing 97 government computers belonging to organisations such as the US Navy and Nasa, but denies it was malicious.

He also denies the allegation he caused damage costing $800,000 (£487,000).

He has always insisted he was looking for classified documents on UFOs, which he believed the US authorities had suppressed.

Steven Greer on Joiner Report

August 20th, 2009 2 comments
Steven Greer According to one source, supporters of Steven Greer, M.D.’s world are as diverse as Apollo astronaut, Dr Edgar Mitchell, who walked on the moon in Apollo 14, to benefactor and philanthropist Laurance Rockefeller, to former British Ministry of Defense Head and five star admiral, Lord Hill-Norton, to folk legend, Burl Ives.

Greer gave up a lucrative medial practice and private life to pursue testimonies concerning the American and other government’s UFO contacts and the technology known by the government and hidden from the people of the world.

In 1990, Greer founded the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence (CSETI). In 1993, he founded the Disclosure Project to end UFO secrecy, claiming evidence of extraterrestrial visits to Earth and a wide range cover up conspiracy by the United States government. Greer is also the founder of the Advanced Energy Research Organization (AERO) and The Orion Project to develop more advanced energy solutions.

Greer believes the ultimate national security is linked to the pressing environmental crisis facing the world today. “This issue is the question of whether humanity can continue as a technologically advanced civilization.” He said that advanced technology has been classified and suppressed due to national security, military interests and “special” interests.

Dr. Greer recently returned from the Extraterrestrial Summit, Barcelona, Spain, the first international summit on Exopolitics – the disclosure of facts and events attesting governmental knowledge and non-disclosure of the facts presented.

Angelia Joiner, “The Joiner Report,” and Dr. Steven Greer will discuss these and other topics including his association with Stan Romanek who was featured on Tuesday night’s ABC Primetime “The Outsiders.” Airing on Friday, Aug. 21, 9-10 p.m. (CST), prerecorded Aug 15. http://ufoparanormalradio.homestead.com.

Gibbs Asked About UFOs On C-SPAN: “I Take Your Question Seriously”

July 24th, 2009 No comments

This morning on C-SPAN, White House Press Secretary Gibbs fielded an unusual question about goverment transparency. The questioner wasn’t concerned with CIA reports or white house visitor logs. The latest alleged cover-up? UFOs.

“My question might seem a little bit silly but it’s very serious and I was wondering if you could take it very seriously.” Ryan from Seattle said. “Let the American people know the truth about UFOs…”

With a hint of a smile Gibbs responded. “Well Ryan I take your question seriously, not simply because of the topic but also because if you’re calling from Seattle and it’s a little after 7 here… it’s a little after 4 in the morning there.” Gibbs paused. “Look… I have not been briefed on whether or not there are… the existence of UFOs, I haven’t talked to the President about this topic.”
